Purpose of Bible Drill

The purpose of Children’s Bible Drill is to help children increase in their knowledge of the Bible, develop skills to effectively handle the Bible, learn how to apply the Bible to their lives, and begin developing memorization skills.

What Do Participants Learn?

During the year, drillers will learn:

• The names of the 66 books of the Bible
• To locate books of the Bible within a 10 second time limit
• To memorize and locate 25 verses and state references with the 10 second time limit
• To memorize and locate 10 Key Passages and be able to find them within the 10 second time limit

1. Genesis 1:27 - So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
2. Leviticus 22:31 - “Keep my commands and follow them. I am the LORD.”
3. Deuteronomy 6:5 – Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
4. 1 Chronicles 16:8 – Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done.
5. Job 37:14 – “Listen to this, Job; stop and consider God’s wonders.”
6. Psalm 19:14 – May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
7. Psalm 54:2 – Hear my prayer, O God; listen to the words of my mouth.
8. Psalm 145:9 – The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.
9. Proverbs 8:33 – Listen to my instruction and be wise; do not ignore it.
10. Proverbs 20:11 – Even a child is known by his actions, by whether his conduct is pure and right.
11. Micah 6:8 – He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
12. Matthew 5:44 – But I tell you; Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
13. Matthew 21:22 – If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.
14. Mark 13:31 – Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
