20. Johnson, Wendell MoodyWendell Johnson (1943-1947)

Wendell Moody Johnson was born in Michigan on July 12, 1912. He currently resides in Buffalo, Texas.

Shortly after Bro. Johnson accepted the call of Hewitt Baptist Church, Baptist Training Unions were organized for all ages and scheduled just prior to Sunday evening preaching services. This made it necessary to move W.M.U. meetings from Sunday evenings to Mondays at 2:30 P.M. On April 8, 1945, the Church voted to contribute $100 to the Truett Memorial at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. Plans for an Educational Building, costing approximately $5,000, were completed toward the end of Bro. Johnson's ministry with our congregation.

Herbert Warren and J.B. Morgan were recognized as Deacons, Bro. Warren coming from Emmanuel Baptist Church, Waco, and Bro. Morgan from Little Deer Creek Baptist Church.
