R.C. Wylie (1954-1958)

R.C. Wylie was born in Billington, Texas, on June 22, 1910.

He died November 3, 1976. Don Long was licensed to preach on August 27, 1955.

In 1956, a Communion Table and Pulpit Stand were given to the Church as memorials to Mr. and Mrs. R.P. Trice by their family. Nineteen Hundred and Fifty- Six was a trying year for several families in the community as their homes were destroyed in separate fires. Offerings were taken by our congregation to help those who sustained such loss. In an ordination service on January 13, 1957, Don Long was ordained for the Ministry and Charlie Maddux and Charlie Stegall were ordained as Deacons. In October, Loyd Kindiger was called as Youth Director. He resigned in 1958 to enter Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
